When Do We Meet

Parish Council meetings are generally held on the third Wednesday in the month, except for August when we don’t have one.  The meetings are in the village hall, starting at 7.30pm and they generally last for about 1½ hours, depending on the agenda.  All villagers are welcome to attend.  The meetings include public participation, this is your opportunity to have your say.

You can see the agenda for the next meeting on our village notice boards within 5 days of the next meeting date, however new points for agenda may be added to this at any time before the actual meeting. You can see the minutes for the latest meeting here. PLEASE NOTE: We are currently experiencing technical issues regarding uploading links/documents and are working to resolve this.

What Do We Do

Broadly the Parish Council is responsible for:

  • Listening to the opinions and concerns of the villagers
  • Representing the views of the villagers to Rugby Borough Council and Warwickshire County Council where villagers feel that a stronger voice is required
  • Provide a village wide 'WhatsApp' alert, events and notification system
  • Identifying problems in the village to Rugby Borough Council and Warwickshire County Council (see below for details)
  • Commenting on planning applications in the village
  • The ownership, operation and maintenance of the street lamps in the village
  • The grass cutting of All Saints Close Green, Overstone Road car park, the verge along Church Lane and the verge either side of the road along the brook (previously undertaken by Rugby Borough Council)
  • Management of the Overstone Road car park (owned by Warwickshire County Council)
  • The four local grit bins at Overstone Road car park, Overstone Road, at the corner of Kirby Lane, and above the layby in Bow Lane.  The bins are filled for the Council by Warwickshire County Council as part of their annual Winter gritting programme.
  • Ownership and maintenance of the bus shelter and notice boards in Main Street and Overstone Road car park, as well as the village sign on All Saints Close green
