What We Do
The Committee organise a varied programme of social events throughout the year, such as barn dances, ferret racing and our ever popular skittles evenings. As well as being fun, these all raise funds to pay for the upkeep of the hall and the field. The hall is also let out for private functions, such as a curry evening, Valentines Disco, and currently we’re running Yoga classes on a Thursday evening. The playing field is also the venue for our impromptu BBQ & Boules evenings in the Summer. The full list of events is on the What's On page.
The committee would be grateful for volunteers to offer any help they feel able to contribute to the village hall events. This does not entail being on the committee but to provide extra help (e.g. making a dessert) when needed.
The Village Hall
The hall can hold up to 96 people, has a complete set of chairs and tables, full commercial standard kitchen, sound system, disco lights and a licenced bar.
If you would like to hire the village hall, click here for our scale of charges.
The Playing Field
The playing field is about ½ acre and has swings, a slide, climbing frames, a see-saw, football posts and two boules courts, along with an outside BBQ.
The playing field is off Main Street behind The Old School. Access is via the gates to The Old School, there is also a side gate to the playing field from the grass tracked public footpath.
The playing field is now open but is subject to Government coronavirus restrictions which are displayed on notices on the playing field.
